2: Learning Highlight

This week, we turned the spotlight on our high school students, celebrating their remarkable projects and achievements:


Grade 9/10 History: Students delved into a fascinating historical theme, "Time, Change, and Continuity." They engaged in a gallery walk, examining their peers' work. Reflective survey sheets were filled as they noted what intrigued them, the visual elements that best complemented the content, and the inspiration for their own upcoming mini-projects. This immersive approach deepened their historical understanding and sparked creativity.


Grade 11/12 History: Older students collaborated on a significant History research project centered around "cultural fusion." Their task was to create an original dish and a piece of music or poetry that embodied this concept. The collaborative spirit was evident as they supported one another in this creative journey.


Our high school students' dedication to exploring history through engaging and imaginative projects showcases their passion for learning and their sense of community.


3: Curriculum Highlight

In our weekly blog, we always set aside a special space to delve into the heart of our curriculum. This week, we’ll begin taking a closer look at the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) learning process.

In the coming week, we will take you on a journey through each stage of the learning process, sharing intricate details that highlight the exciting educational experiences we provide at Hope.

But before we dive into the specifics, let's grasp the essence of the IPC & IMYC learning process. At its core, these programs emphasize experiential and inquiry-based learning. Students aren't just passive recipients of knowledge; they are active explorers.

The journey begins with "Entry Points," where students get curious and excited about a new topic. This sparks the learning adventure. Then, they explore the "Knowledge Harvest," connecting what they already know with what they're about to discover.

"Learning Process," the heart of the journey, sees students in action, applying their knowledge, asking questions, developing skills, and seeking answers. In "Exit Points," they showcase their newfound understanding, whether through presentations, projects, or other creative expressions.

Throughout, the emphasis is on holistic development, nurturing skills, and a global perspective. It's about igniting a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.
